New research has come out which suggests that eating vegetables containing beta-carotene, may have you be perceived as more attractive.
A study published in Behavioral Ecology found that supplementing with beta-carotene, a plant pigment found in fruits and vegetables, can make men appear more attractive and healthier looking. In the study, 43 men were given a 12-week course of beta-carotene, and the attractiveness of their faces was assessed before and after the supplementation period. The results showed that the beta-carotene group had increased yellowness and redness in their skin, and were perceived as more attractive and healthier compared to the control group that did not consume vegetables high in carotenoids. These findings suggest that consuming fruits and vegetables high in beta-carotene may improve one's appearance.
Therefore, eating vegetables containing carotenoids can be beneficial to your skin and is an effective way to make you look tanner.
